We are deeply concerned by the abduction of Jameel Umar, deputy convener of Turbat Civil Society, and his friend Sana Baloch. They were taken away by armed men while traveling from Kolwah to Turbat on April 18, 2024. We ask authorities for their safe and immediate recovery.

The former minister's threat of ethnic cleansing against the Baloch people is enabled by years of dehumanization campaigns targeting Balochs and Pashtuns, which have allowed the army and its supporters to commit crimes against humanity in the region with impunity.

This is quite alarming. A former caretaker minister from Pakistan is threatening Baloch people with ethnic cleansing on social media… Instead of dealing with separatists, he would rather target innocent Baloch students across the country… genocidal intent on full display!
