The Assembly has passed A1633A, Jo Anne Simon 文雅麗 🟧's bill to help hold NY's hospitals accountable to the communities they serve. I was proud to co-sponsor this bill and speak about its significance in the context of Mount Sinai Health System's ongoing efforts to close Beth Israel Hospital.

Squatters who exploit the law to illegally occupy housing have become a problem in New York. I am proud to be the prime co-sponsor of John C. Liu & Ron T. Kim’s new bill (A9772) to clarify the legal definition of a squatter to protect small property owners from this abuse.

We are fighting for a housing plan that works for New Yorkers, not one that makes it harder for tenants to stay in their homes. We must pass a budget that includes #GoodCauseEviction without changing IAI caps! @housing4allny

Illegal cannabis stores have been acting with impunity for too long. I support NYS Assembly Member John Zaccaro Jr's new bill (A9520) to revoke tobacco, liquor, & gaming licenses from stores illegally selling cannabis, and I recently joined a press conference in Albany to include it in this year’s budget.

In response to local concerns, Harvey Epstein and I met w/ MTA to discuss the impact congestion pricing will have on our air quality. We learned air monitors are being installed to provide public data, and we emphasized the need for a mitigation plan if air quality issues arise.
