Language justice is a civil rights issue. Commissioner Commissioner Manuel Castro & our language access team were excited to have joined the launch of the NYC Community Interpreter Bank! This incredible initiative will continue to push the needle on language access for all immigrant NYers 🗽

We're thrilled to be part of NYC's first ever Community Interpreter Bank, working with New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), African Communities Together, HAUP, and Masa, to expand language access to City services and programs to immigrants in all five boroughs!

Asian New Yorkers are 13% of eligible voters in the City, but we have the smallest registration numbers and smaller turnout rates. AAF spoke with katiehonan.bsky.social on how our free voter education tool Ballot Builder is helping bridge language access and civic participation gaps.
