In 2018 when Kelloggs announced they were leaving Venezuela overnight, making hundreds redundant, the Venezuelan government just let them go and helped the workers physically take over the factory. It is still producing, using 100% Venezuelan raw materials. An inspirational story

Yes, this is broadly where I am. But with one caveat: antitrust against tech can reduce their political power, which is currently dangerous for democracy.

This 👇 is pretty funny and, I checked, it's real: the title of the Princeton study is "Political Discontent in China Is Associated with Isolating Personality Traits" (collaborate.princeton.edu/en/publication…). In a nutshell, Princeton University found that those who dislike the Communist Party

natasha cloud, one of the best players in the WNBA, is being blackballed by the league for her vocal pro-palestine activism. this is unacceptable and not enough people are talking about what’s happening to her.

A good example of sound governance from Isabella M Weber - another example comes from the 1st book of the Bible where Joseph ordered grain storage during yrs of plenty to survive yrs of famine. Archaelological evidence says this kind of stewardship was practised from 9500 BC.

Polling on whether reconciliation has "gone too far" doesn't tell you anything about policy. It tells you that a sustained political campaign to frame First Nations as a threat has been effective. That's manufactured consent for the status quo.

"Blood and soil" was foundational to National Socialist ideology in Germany -- if Armstrong's statement doesn't constitute hate speech under Canada's criminal code than that code is irrelevant and useless for prosecuting crime in 21st century Canada.
