Hi NHS Blood+Transplant I’ve been very proud of working for you and with you the past 8+ years in total but the latest headlines and news about racism and bullying towards black members of staff needs to be addressed ASAP. Enough is enough.

As a person that has #sicklecell myself, and having to jump through hoops to try and get the NHS to understand the importance of representation in recruiting more black blood donors to give blood, it’s very hard hearing that not only are we not being heard.

That black members of staff have been bullied, harassed and been painted with racist stereotypes. You as an organisation NHS Blood+Transplant need to do better and it’s about time we had that conversation on how to be. End of the day black lives of sickle cell patients including my daughters
