Disgraceful. There's no other way to describe this experience. The really sad part of this, we hear this from black Labour councillors up and down the country. The treatment of Black Councillors, who are advocates for the Labour movement in their communities, must change.

It's quite despicable that on Race Equality Week, the Shadow Justice Secretary suggested an policy that will undoubtedly hurt minorities and will continue the damaging War on Drugs.

Labour should look like the country it seeks to represent. We need change to make that happen. My thoughts below:

When the Labour party speaks to tackling all forms of racism, I expect that to include Islamophobia and Anti-Black racism. Don't dismiss or belittle the experiences of thousands of members and HQ staff! It requires debate and addressing.

👀👀 This is a failure of long-term planning from the Party and the movement. We must use this opportunity to fix it.
