Sodium valproate was given to thousands of women with epilepsy since 1970s, when risks to their babies were kept hidden from them by drs and regulators. 4 in 10 babies are born wth severe learning disabilities, autism and physical deformities. 4/8

Branwen Mann, 28, also had to fight for her PIP payments despite her permanent diagnosis of fetal valproate spectrum disorder, a recognised condition by the NHS. She fears how her and her sister will cope when her mum is no longer around; 5/8

Bridget Coyle is the worst harmed children from sodium valproate. She is bed bound and severely brain damaged needing constant care. Her mum Karen, whose epilepsy led to daily seizures, had to get a solicitor to fight for her own PIP: "It was the worst experience of my life" 6/8
