This is yet again another example of terrible leadership in the sport of tennis. I don’t get the chance to defend my singles and doubles titles at the US Open Tennis because I’m in a wheelchair complete disgrace if this isn’t changed I don’t know what to say other than discrimination!

Massively disappointed to find out on twitter this morning that the US Open Tennis plan on cutting wheelchair tennis from this years tournament. The wheelchair players have had ZERO communication or consultation from either the ITF or the Grand Slam around this decision.

Positive discussions with US Open Tennis today. They’re looking to make it right with the help of the players.

So to say I am conflicted might be the understatement of 2020 thus far. I love tennis, but we missed an opportunity. In a world of social distancing, we could have owned this moment...could we have been the sport of choice?!
