It’s great to see the monumental efforts of providers over perhaps the most testing set of circumstances ever faced showing up in official data. Now is the time for Govt to make those much needed changes to functional skills, EPA and funding that will build on this momentum…

A welcome package of apprenticeship changes announced which are expected to support 20k more young people AELP 

- Co-investment 🔪 for under 22s
- Levy transfer ⬆️ to 50%
- The Department for Education Apprenticeship Budget ⬆️ to “over £2.7bn” from next year

There is always more to do & moving forward, AELP would like to see the end to co-investment for all-age apprenticeships & we will continue to lobby to ensure providers are not arbitrarily penalised when an employer stops paying which voids access to the 20% completion payment

Welcome boost to apprenticeships announced today - critical though programmes are funded appropriately AELP has called for all apprenticeships to be funded at a minimum of at least £5k pa to ensure the viability of quality delivery & stop the ongoing loss of training capacity
