Excellent piece by our CEO Ben Rowland in today's FT highlighting how skills spending has been slowly strangled.
Reversing this would boost productivity and address the growing NEET issue in this country.

Another real life example of the need to bring back an Ofsted “capacity to improve” judgement and for Department for Education to think twice about discarding apprenticeship providers who can bounce back if it doesn’t go to plan first time round during inspection #BigListen

An honour to be asked by Rishi Sunak to become a Minister at the Department for Education.
A privilege to follow on from @Halfon4HarlowMP, and I'm looking forward to working with Gillian Keegan MP to build on his brilliant legacy.
A very warm welcome to Luke Hall MP who has been appointed as Minister of State in the Department for Education
Sad to see Robert Halfon MP ➡️Working Hard for Harlow⬅️ stepping down. Not only a passionate Skills Minister but also a brilliant chair of Education Committee who never shied away from holding the government and others to account. Overall a proper advocate for skills and social mobility - leaves big shoes to fill.
Two of the better Conservative Ministers have stood down today. Both widely respected. Rt Hon James Heappey MP is knowledgeable and passionate defender of our armed forces and would have made a fine Defence Sec and Robert Halfon MP ➡️Working Hard for Harlow⬅️ will be a big loss to the skills world as he stands down.
