I've quite enjoyed helping observers to identify birds using the iNaturalist app in the past year. It's interesting watching the breeding season progress. Clearly, I was unprepared for autumn migration which really highlights the scope of mortality due to building collisions.

Going to visit family in NYC for the first time this weekend (Bronx). I've been in many large cities in the world, but this one kinda freaks me out. Any #NYC #birders out there have any advice on where an urbanophobe might go to chill for a little while? #quiet #birding

The Northern Hawk Owl is one of the most iconic species in the boreal forest and is also one of the least known. Check out our recent paper, coauthored by Julia Put 🦇🐦🐿️🐻 and Dr. Julia Shonfield, that sheds some light on their post-fire habitat use in western N.A. can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%…

When I'm walking along in a foreign country, I generally don't think about monkeys. That's why it's especially startling when one appears suddenly within a metre of your face. Grivet or African green monkey. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Recently had the opportunity to spend 16 days in Ethiopia birding and watching other wildlife. Took along a DSLR and managed to document some of the incredible species seen on the trip. Long-crested Eagle (in B&W), near Mojo, Ethiopia. #birding #birdphotography #Africa

For atlassers in the Boreal Shield, it's a great time to take a stroll after dark to listen for the hoots of the #GreatHornedOwl as they are re-establishing territories and attracting mates now. Report any breeding evidence; we are in the safe dates! #ONBirdAtlas3 #Owls

If I needed fewer reasons to be on this platform anymore, why Twitter Canada do the same tweets just keep going by over and over again as I'm scrolling? It's like watching an episode of the #Flintstones.

I just found a banded Northern Parula in The Ramble of Central Park - red leg band with no number. Anyone have an idea who banded this bird? 🤔
