Sometimes I bring my camera out and the wildlife just don't really lend themselves to great photos, other times I happen to have my camera ready when a muskrat suddenly swims by at close range. Here's the result #wildlifephotography

Found a luna moth while working in NW Ontario this June, only the second time I've ever seen this species! With their large size and striking colouration, they are an exciting find! #fieldwork #MothsMatter

Fall is typically a good time to see a lot of mushrooms in the field, this one is from earlier this summer in northern Ontario, I have no idea what it is but I like that it reminds me of tree rings #fungi #fieldwork

Beautiful fall day 🍂spent with my co-workers planting trees and shrubs for a wetland restoration project by Conservation Halton We all showed up with rubber boots and/or waders and it turned out the site was far more dry than normal this fall

What a fascinating story about a newly described owl 🦉species: A new species of scops-owl from Príncipe Island, São Tomé and Príncipe

Dr. Julia Shonfield (@juliashonfield) 's Twitter Profile Photo

When I started working on owls for my PhD, I was surprised to discover how little we know about some 🦉 species. Northern Hawk Owl are one such species, and I'm so pleased to see this work on their habitat use published. Great working with Kevin Hannah and Julia Put 🦇🐦🐿️🐻 on this!

Out doing #owl surveys for Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas near Elliot Lake last night. Lots of frogs, but a quiet night for owls until the last station, a pair of Barred owls showed up & were calling very close! So cool! Audio clip below: (daytime pic is from a few years ago). #ONBirdAtlas2023
