California has a massive housing crisis. SB79 is a bill that will permit and streamline construction of more housing around transit stops, in some cases overriding local rules and objections. Senator Scott Wiener is the bill's author. LA City Council Member Imelda Padilla opposes it.

On her website, Councilmember Imelda Padilla for LA City Council District 6’s priorities include addressing homelessness and the affordability crisis, which is clearly accomplished by reducing the number of homes built in an 100% affordable housing project.

Weird times we’re living in where a candidate to the right of TraciParkforLA has better housing policies than the sitting Democratic Assemblymember in this seat.

Success begets success! This is why we need #SB79 to start this productive growth-loop for our communities.

In the CA State Senate race to represent the Westside of LA only John Erickson raised his hand to say he would support #SB79 which would legalize homes near transit. This is what leadership looks like.
