Finished the #CrystalPalaceParkrun and found my hubby and our neighbor deep in a ‘could’ve been better’ chat, she was happy, hubby wasn’t with 27’. I roll in at 45’, glad I didn’t overhear their ‘elite athletes’ complaints while I was out there fighting for my life! 😂

At the seaside for some fresh air and seafood, but my husband’s dinner has eyes. Pretty sure it’s judging us both. 🙈😂

Spent All Saints’ Day at Dulwich Picture Gallery admiring three generations of Yoshida woodblock prints. Nothing says ‘honoring the saints’ like a deep dive into breathtaking Japanese landscapes. ❤️

Heartbroken to hear of Olivera Nikolova’s passing. Growing up, her stories shaped our childhood, especially Zoki Poki. Her words and characters taught us about life, kindness, and friendship. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on forever. 💔

Went out for a short walk to clear my head, but all that open space just made room for… bread in my tummy. 😂 Unexpected carb therapy provided by Dulwich! 😂

Just a typical celebration day in our house! My Slovenian husband and I love teasing each other, so naturally, I treated him to a “taste of home”…by bringing for the party an Austrian Sachertorte. 😂

‘It’s a lot more than just typing with a dictionary.’ I agree! 👌 But for many people and clients is ‘good enough.’ Companies save money with this mindset, and there’s not much we can do. Lately, all I hear is ‘tighten the budget.’ 🤷🏼‍♀️ theguardian.com/books/2024/nov…

Spent an hour choosing gravel online for my Marimo ball’s new home with its old pals 2 Kew Gardens stones. They weren’t helpful. 😂 Honestly, it would’ve been quicker to go outside and grab some, but hey, my algae deserves the best.! And my hubby can take his cereal bowl back. 😂

Me: I’ll just skim this Macedonian morphology book before bed. Also me at 3 a.m.: passionately comparing it to Slovene and whispering ‘fascinating’ into the void. 😂 Woke up at 7ish to finish. Sleep is temporary, linguistics is forever. 🙈😂

The construction is so loud and creepy, I’ve started training my brain to imagine there are cute animals in the walls big & small. So far, I’ve got a wall-dwelling moles, mystery-sized raccoons, and even an elephant trying to squeeze through. (I think he’s stuck, but still cute!)

Even when it’s freezing, SOHO knows the drill—iced americano in hand like it’s a heatwave, without question and they’ve thrown in pralines just to make sure I’m extra cozy. They just checked me in the meantime to see if I changed my state of aggregation. 😂

Slovene Christmas Carol service hit different: sing a verse, eat potica, sit, stand, repeat. By the 10th round, you’re full, blessed, and accidentally did more squats than at the gym all year. 😀 By the end, even your Fitbit says amen!

Miklavž: the only guy who can walk into your house uninvited, leave you some walnuts and oranges, and somehow you’re still grateful. 😄
