Back from Parliament in London, where I had the pleasure of meeting up with Sir Gavin Williamson CBE MP again and of meeting Abtisam Mohamed for the first time. A new report on Somaliland recognition is in draft form and it's pretty powerful. We are all now starting to believe that it is-

Inevitable the UK will at last do what is the best interests both of Somaliland and of the UK, itself- through recognition. Now gathering evidence for the Select Committee as well as APPG. Momentum is building- more news follows.

The right course of action must be taken promptly before it’s too late. Somaliland remains a stable and reliable ally. If the UK fails to seize this opportunity now, others will step in and capitalize on it.

Despite Trump's radical disengagement from Africa, there will be some beneficiaries from US policy One is Somaliland which has its best ever chance of recognition (that would help Ethiopia by extension). Morocco could also benefit as the US pressures Algeria on Polisario /7
