What’s being done to Gaza is the greatest moral atrocity of our lifetime. It is impossible to read the facts and watch the videos and come to any other conclusion. To be silent, to equivocate, to deny, is to tacitly endorse an act of generational evil. It will not be forgotten.
“It’s difficult to imagine Ramadan in Gaza this year,” Zaina Arafat writes. “I want to imagine that, even at a time of devastation and deprivation, a personal act of sacrifice can still lend purpose to senselessness.” nyer.cm/xefBpxR

If you read one thing today, have it be this The New Yorker essay by Zaina Arafat. Featuring the brilliant photographs of Kholood Eid, who grew up between the West Bank and Missouri, it beautifully explores what it means to be Palestinian in the diaspora. newyorker.com/culture/photo-…
Truly honored to be a small part in bringing this deeply soulful, years-in-the-making work of art to readers soon. I have been such a deep admirer of Zaina Arafat and am thrilled to embark on this journey together!

"Most people in Windom didn’t know much about Palestinians—they weren’t yet covered in Walter Cronkite’s evening broadcasts—and the community was genuinely curious to learn about them and the conflict." —from Zaina Arafat's essay "Our Arab" thebeliever.net/our-arab/
