The Ministry of Labor, in partnership with Qatarcharitysomalia, has launched a major economic empowerment initiative in #Mogadishu — distributing 260 tricycles & 100 flour mills to support youth employment & small businesses. Officially kicked off by the Minister of Labor Yusuf Mohamed Adan.


Today, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and SIMAD University signed a strategic MoU to enhance youth employment, skills training, TVET & innovation in 🇸🇴. The MoU was signed by H.E. Minister Yusuf Mohamed Adan and Dr. Abdikarim Mohudin Ahmed, Rector of SIMAD.

This step will ensure fair recruitment, protect migrant workers’ rights, and strengthen oversight of private employment agencies. At today’s #MICS7 launch in Mogadishu, Yusuf Mohamed Adan highlighted the importance of quality data for shaping 🇸🇴’s future. Led by Somalia National Bureau of Statistics, the survey will guide the NTP 2025–29 & track 47 #SDG indicators. The event gathered gov’t officials, World Bank, United Nations & civil society.
