When I recently met up with Rob Dunlavey - the illustrator who did backgrounds for the Zelda CD-i games & Arzette - he gave me an incredibly heartfelt gift...the original world map sketches for both games. I'm so happy and unbelievably grateful.

'Hotel Mario' for the CD-i released on this day in 1994. Developed by Philips' Fantasy Factory as part of a licensing arrangement with Nintendo; Hotel Mario has since become infamous for its animated cutscenes, and gameplay inconsistent with player expectations for a Mario game.

the greatest thing about youtube poops that use the pingas clip is when they don't just edit the voice clip onto someone speaking and instead just hard cut to the actual pingas scene just for that one word, it's so much funnier that way
