We think of soleus as an ankle plantar flexor  However in closed chain at midstance, the soleus’ force pulls the tibia posteriorly exerting an extension moment on the knee In this way soleus is a major knee extensor. Here is the open SIM Soleus, it matters! #biomechanics #gait

Thread: To cue or not to cue? Is that the question? I believe we owe it to the broader coaching community to consider the merit of what appears to be a growing tension between instructional (verbal) and constraint-led (non-verbal) approaches to coaching. 1/19

Again, it is not about cues vs constraints, it is about better cues AND better constraints. If we focus on the task and what the task is asking of the athlete, we will learn how best to guide attention. Maybe a cue, maybe a constraint, maybe both. 19/19

If you picture a scapula that is Anterior Tilted vs a scapula that is posteriorly tilted, you can appreciate the fact that they will have far different “starting points” for the Local External Rotation.

💎 Banded Arm Bar External Rotation ⚾️ Use This exercise to challenge End Range External Rotation and Posterior Scapular Tilt 🔥 As you move in ER, you should see the front of the shoulder move backwards ⬅️ This is a product of the Scap tipping backwards to allow clean layback

Another priority for us has been maintaining a strong emphasis on foot & ankle health. This has become one of my favorites. Mainly for the negative shin angle/plantarflexion when pushing back ⬇️

#TechniqueTuesday- The landmine single-leg RDL is a great alternative to the dumbbell or barbell RDL. It takes pressure off of the lower back and spine, and still allows the exercise to be loaded. Learn more about the single-leg RDL in Lower Body Training.ecs.page.link/7d8Yp
