#hot If you have planted any trees and shrubs in the past few years. Please water them this evening, in the morning and tomorrow evening. They will thank you.

Deciduous trees are dropping leaves in response to the heat. These are the less efficient leaves that are lost to reduce moisture loss through transpiration. Please water them if you can, they are asking for help.

#Masters2020 Please look at how their trees are in large mulch beds. Just how trees should be. If everyone did this their trees would be much happier. Just as nature intended.

I am not shivering tree, but quietly laughing at the Robins, puffed up against the #cold. They look like flying sumo wrestlers.

500 years ago, Leonardo da Vinci claimed that a tree's trunk splits with mathematical precision, meaning in the combined thickness of all the branches at a specific height being equal to the thickness of the trunk. And guess what? He was right! #FactFriday

Rain, unless prolonged and not drizzle, will not water your gardens, other than the top couple of mm. You will still need to water your new trees, Hedges, shrubs and lawns.

#StormEunice #trees If they are flexing in the wind, do not fret. If they have a new lean, an existing lean has increased or there are new cracks in the ground around the tree. Clear the area of people and call a tree surgeon pronto.

#stormeunice #trees Want someone to die? During this storm, suggest they go for a walk in a woodland or less obviously stand under the new lean of a tree or a hung up tree.

Rainfall in June in England 74% of average. Must be faulty measurements it seemed about 10%. On the back of a dry autumn, winter and spring and this heatwave lasting til end of June at least. Please water your trees.

Get around #hosepipeBan by using a drip irrigation method. Please water all of your trees. In the south east it has hardly rained since autumn. I am watching a mature Sycamore shed all its leaves, hope it will be OK (not, I hate Sycamores)
