On April 30, 2025, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India launched a campaign urging all states and Union Territories to implement the Forest Rights Act of 2006. The campaign runs from June 1 to June 30, 2025, focusing on secure tenure, improved livelihoods, and forest conservation.

I got an opportunity to attend the State level sensitisation program on the FRA organised by the Directorate of Tribal Welfare, Karnataka in Bangalore. During the program several issues were raised, including the need for improved collaboration with the State Forest Dept.
