Do wolves really howl at a full moon? Come to the Lamar Valley tonight and find out! While the moon is its fullest now, viewing should be even better tonight after twilight ends and the moon rises again.

Help us protect bears and keep them wild! 🐻 One of the biggest ways you can help us do this is by throwing away garbage in any of our bear-proof trash cans and storing all food and smelly items so that bears (and other wildlife) cannot access them.

“Up periscope!” Uinta ground squirrels are master engineers, creating networks of underground tunnels that may benefit vegetation by aerating soil and bringing seeds to the surface. Look for this small but mighty ground squirrel in Yellowstone’s sagebrush meadows and grasslands.

Yellowstone has around 150 species of nesting birds! Many are currently incubating eggs or caring for young. Tiny hummingbirds incubate eggs for only two weeks while the massive golden eagle sits atop eggs for six! If you spot a nesting bird, remember to give it room.
