a huge reason i’m pursuing obgyn as a career is because all babies are born only 9-5 (many 9-4) monday through friday

As an OB/Gyn and a Urogynecologist I just really want women to know that reproduction is an option. Not an obligation.

And you deserve full information and resources to choose the right one for you, and you alone.

Residency is a strange experience because one moment you’re being chastised by faculty like you’re a child and the next moment your program director is asking if he can buy your extra wristbands for EDC

I feel like the ambition is so often misplaced, I want to love my job and do it well but otherwise just live my life outside of medicine

Gonna say- if you’re a woman over 21 and KNOW you want to be CHILDFREE forever and other obgyns have denied you sterilization- come to me and I’ll do your tubal ligation.
It’s your body, your reproductive decisions. I’m happy to be your surgeon though.

FYI, if you’re a resident that will graduate by June 2025 you qualify to apply to become a NASA astronaut. That’s pretty dope.

This is wildly incorrect. I live in a state where elective abortions are allowed, and hospitals have STILL made me wait until patients become septic/go into DIC before letting me perform indicated terminations

Today was my career record for de-prescribing supplements: lovely new patient with CAD taking a total of 132 supplements per day(yes you read that right!) thanks to all of the “longevity” experts who love a grift. We replaced them all with $4 rosuvastatin. Wellness is unwell.

What I hate about this kind of discourse is that this is demonstrably false. In just 15 yrs surgical training has changed considerably. Pts are sicker & a surgeon today is expected to be proficient in more modalities than ever before… & this is all WITH duty hr restrictions
