Bloody hell, a cabinet made up of serious, capable, professional people who also possess human empathy. We haven’t had one of those for years. Our best are back in power.

And so many of them went to State Schools. I love that. I love it so much. We need a break from Eton/Winchester types. We need people who went to schools like ours, who had mates like our mates, who understand normal life and what you can and can't afford.

It seems to me that the portrayal of the Labour win as shallow because of the vote share is misleading. This was a ‘get the tories out’ election. For different people that generally meant voting Labour, Lib Dem, Green or Reform. But in doing so they all knew they’d get a Labour
