On this day in 2017 we announced the first ever winners of the Ysgol Bae Baglan Book Awards. We were delighted that @docherty_helen and @TDIllustration were present to receive their award. On Wednesday we announce the 2022 winners - watch this space.

Had so much fun running workshops and meeting pupils and staff at Ysgol Bae Baglan today. The workshops were full of fab ideas, and it was an honour to pick up my YBB Book Awards 2022 award for #TheMemoryThieves. An epic day!

It's going to be an exciting day tomorrow as we announce the Year Group winners of this year's book awards. Our teams of Year7, 8 and 9 readers will also be arguing the case for the chosen book to be the overall winner of the YBB Book Awards 2023. Can't wait.

Today's the day! Winners of the YBB Book Awards announced later this morning.

We have our first winner! Congratulations to Liz Kessler winner of the Ysgol Bae Baglan Year 9 Award for When the World Was Ours. The children found it an emotional whirlwind. They also loved the different perspectives of this story.

Here comes our second winner. Congratulations to Lesley Parr winner of the Year 8 Ysgol Bae Baglan Book Award. The children loved the Welsh setting and the story of coming to terms with life post WW1.

Our third and final year group is Dread Wood by Jennifer Killick winner of the Year 7 Ysgol Bae Baglan Book Awards. Congratulations! The children loved the excitement of the story and how it was relatable to them. A fab Year 7 winner.
