Tomorrow is #InternationalMicroorganismDay! This tweet is therefore dedicated to all the #microbes lovers out there🦠🌍❤️ Join the #DANEMO2022 symposium 3-4 Nov Aarhus Universitet, to hear about "Microbial Ecosystems" introduced by Nassos Typas Typas Lab @EMBL danemo.au.dk/symposium2022
Was a beautiful and exciting experience at the annual SPP2330 meeting on phage biology! Such a nice job from FrunzkeLab and team in organising the event New Concepts in Prokaryotic Virus-Host Interaction
We are really thrilled that our grant #ProFITGut is one of the Starting Grants supported by European Research Council (ERC) this year! We will be looking at how drugs affect the proteome of gut microbiome species to find targets and resistance mechanisms to start manipulating the human microbiome.
Very honored to be among this year's #ERC_StG awardees! The grant will allow us to study microbiome-mediated effects of psychotropic drugs. A big thank you to all lab members, collaborators, mentors, friends & family for their continued support.European Research Council (ERC) Controlling Microbes to Fight Infections Universität Tübingen
Check our new preprint on drug interactions in 3 Gram-positive bacterial species. Over 10,000 combinations with a plethora of novel synergies and unexpected activities of non-antibiotics against multi-drug resistant #Saureus. Heroic effort of Elisabetta Cacace! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Take a look at our new paper on poxvirus assembly — cryo-ET of vaccinia-infected cells #TeamTomo. Out now PLOS Biology. We show that two successive capsid-like lattices drive virus assembly and control virion shape and dimensions. journals.plos.org/plosbiology/ar…
Registration for the upcoming International Symposium of New Concepts in Prokaryotic Virus-Host Interaction is now open: "New Concepts in Prokaryotic Virus-Host Interaction" spp2330.de/symposium-2023/ October 2-4, 2023 in Berlin, Germany See you there! DFG public | @[email protected], #phage
Came back from an amazing course on Phage Biology in Lund, Sweden. Full of interesting talks and had the opportunity to meet many PI and students in the field. Big thanks for the organisers! Vasili Hauryliuk Ntl Doctoral Program in Infections and Antibiotics
A recap and highlights of the final version of our paper on antimicrobial combinations! Out now in Nature Microbiology nature.com/articles/s4156…
Check our new preprint by Nazgul Sakenova 🇰🇿 where we advance the identification of cross-resistance & collateral sensitivity between antibiotics using chemical genetics data, uncover underlying mechanisms and use the insights to reduce resistance evolution. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
#FeaturedProtocol this week is for TAC–TIC, a #highthroughput #genetics method to identify triggers or blockers of bacterial #toxinantitoxin systems bit.ly/3V2Ej5m Typas Lab Jacob Bobonis Alessio Yang
TAC-TIC allows you to investigate toxin-antitoxin systems in bacteria by screening hundreds of genes at the same time. It was a great experience to work and write alongside Jacob Bobonis and Carlos!
Arp2/3 iso-complexes strike again & Way lab does Immunology! Outstanding work from Luiz Vasconcellos Shaina Naoko Kogata The Crick explain why mutations in the ARPC5 subunit of the Arp2/3 complex are bad for your health biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
