“It is called inferational reasoning, not speculation, General” ~ Justice Madlanga The Chair informing General Sibiya that he can play his hide-and-seek alone. The commission will still draw their conclusions on the basis of the balance of probability. #MadlangaCommission

LOL! It’s quite interesting to observe the dynamics in the exchanges between Justice Madlanga and General Sibiya. At times it comes across as a parent/teacher probing and admonishing a youngster after an incident of bad behaviour. #MadlangaCommission

I am an Afrikaner. I have all the freedom I want. The Bill of Rights in our constitution protects my rights. I am fully integrated in the South African nation. Demanding special treatment for Afrikaners is not in the interest of that group. Stop parotting MAGA

Justice Madlanga showing Carrim’s legal team that uncentsiwe emncentsweni - he’s not going to be disrespected like he’s a packer at a spaza shop. Glad he put this lot in their place because, from day 1, they’ve conducted themselves in an appalling manner. #MadlangaCommission

“Will you give us your authority to approach Apple and ask them for your backups from their database?” ~ Advocate Chaskalson is not here for jokes. #MadlangaCommission

Gen. Sibiya spent so much time and energy explaining the sorry tale of his Impalas, even telling us how they were eating the strings tied around the bricks for his wall construction project. Only for Sergeant Nkosi to dismiss that as a load of bull. #MadlangaCommission

It was a master stroke for Justice Madlanga to rule that Sergeant Nkosi has to appear at the #MadlangaCommission in person. Gone are the regular delays in Nkosi’s responses (indicative of some background coaching) and requests for bathroom breaks when the going got tough.

Advocate Chaskalson has a wicked sense of humour - “apologies to the police at the Sandton Police Station🤣” #MadlangaCommission

Ngoato loves the limelight and the sound of his own voice. Also, why is he always angry, my goodness? #MadlangaCommission

“Commissioner, can we park that one and come back to it later” ~ Sergeant Nkosi My theory is that, whenever Fannie does this…or asks for a bathroom break, he’s stumped. He’s looking for a coaching opportunity to avoid self incrimination. #MadlangaCommission

Judging by the smirk and grinning reaction everytime Sergeant Nkosi gets a tough question, I’m starting to believe he wasn’t lying when he lied and told Adv. Chaskalson, earlier, that he uses the laughing emoji to express shock. #MadlangaCommission

Sergeant Nkosi is really intent on occupying the crease today, to borrow a phrase from the game of cricket. Not only do we have to deal with his “weak” bladder, he’s now also bringing in the services of an interpreter. It’s going to be a mighty long day. #MadlangaCommission
