Story about the new Atlas of Ungulate Migration in News from Science today! science.org/content/articl…
Ungulates such as mule deer, wildebeest, and caribou migrate seasonally, but these migrations are threatened by habitat loss and barriers to movement. Department of State, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, NOAA Fisheries, USGS and U.S. EPA are working with partners to protect these critical movements.
Happy to see GIUM finally reaching the stage of launching the Atlas. For now - only a subset of what is coming. Congrats to Matthew Kauffman for his persistence, & to Steffen Mumme for his amazing efforts with mapping (& many others!) science.org/content/articl…
New in @sciencemagazine, we show that spatial cognitive ability is associated with longevity in food-caching Mountain Chickadees. And Vladimir Pravosudov’s photo was selected for the cover! #ScienceResearch. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… 1/n
