Satellite imagery continues to show high pressure dominating the western half of the United States, keeping away most high level clouds/moisture. It's only in the low levels of the atmosphere (being impacted by the ocean) with onshore winds ushering in thicker fog. CBS News Bay Area

Why is so chilly in San Francisco in the summer!? While the rest of CA heats up, it stays chilly here because onshore winds pick up/marine fog returns. The onshore winds will be strong enough tomorrow to influence highs from the coast to the Sierra - these winds are powerful!

Breaking down the severe threats - the worst storms over the next few hours will move over the northeast/eastern parts of the country. Later this afternoon and evening storms will continue to strengthen across the southeast. Then overnight, more severe weather moves across TX.⬇️

Excessive heat continues across the Desert SW and PNW today before cooling down a bit into tomorrow - but still above normal. In general, the western US is seeing a faster rate of warming in the summer compared to the east - so this heat will become a lot more 'normal' soon.

It's the full strawberry moon - but it's not any ordinary full moon!! First of all, no it will not look red. Tonight's full moon will be the lowest in the sky that it's been for nearly 20 years! And the next time we'll see it this low is in 2043! Check it out tonight! CBS News Bay Area

HEADS UP TEXAS🌧️ Not only is more severe weather possible today, but excessive rainfall will be a major concern across central Texas (including Austin, Waco, Tyler) And this more intense rainfall is only becoming more and more common as the years (and climate change) continue...

We really have a lot of fun in the mornings...whether you're alive with the sound of music (play coming to the Bay Area!), needing a spoonful of sugar, or waiting for the sun to go to bed so you can too I hope this video puts a smile on your face - I know it did for me! CBS News Bay Area

San Antonio saw 6"+ of rain in the past 24 hours, with the heaviest moving over Houston now. Flash flooding will continue to be a risk into tomorrow with more storms developing. On the northern edge of this system, severe weather will set up across parts of NE, SD, CO, and WY.

Zoe Mintz (@wx_zoe) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The storm that brought deadly flooding to Texas will move across the country and bring excessive rainfall to large cities like Houston, Memphis, St. Louis, and Washington DC. While heavy rain is falling east, severe storms will develop over Montana and east of the Rockies.

After a week filled with foggy mornings across the Bay Area, most of us FINALLY saw a more colorful sunrise this morning! The timelapse from on top of Black Mountain was gorgeous. You can expect much of the same tomorrow - get out and enjoy your Father's Day activities! CBS News Bay Area

Have you noticed it's felt chillier in SF this June? Well, this is the coolest start to the month the city has felt since 1999. There has not been a single day so far with highs > average. But changes are on the way! A short lived warm up will arrive Tuesday/Wednesday CBS News Bay Area

A line of severe storms was making it's way across Indiana during the 4 PM ET CBS News 24/7 - I have lots of friends/family across the state, and it's SO rewarding to get to be able to forecast for them - hoping everyone is safe. The line of storms is now crossing over into Ohio.

A powerful system is currently swirling off the coast of Canada...this storm will not bring the Bay Area any rain, but quite the opposite - cooler/drier air with gusty winds (30-40+ mph) will arrive tomorrow and continue through Friday, increasing fire danger just a bit CBS News Bay Area

I got a GOOD case of the giggles during this morning's show on CBS News Bay Area when I forgot a very important but much overlooked word during one of my sentences...'the'... Hopefully you all get as much enjoyment out of this as I do - I still can't stop giggling every time I watch😂

Who's ready for the winds to FINALLY ease up?!✋ Luckily it's going to be a lot calmer across the Bay Area today. Winds will stay below 25 mph for a majority of us (other than North Bay coast) with sunny skies and seasonable temperatures. Get out and enjoy this Sunday! CBS News Bay Area

Winds are very important to the Bay Area's weather. A little warm up is on the way thanks to a change in wind direction! Winds will shift from onshore to offshore tomorrow, bringing in warmer and drier air. Highs will continue to ping pong around through next week! CBS News Bay Area
