Weekly tip: shun the conference table. It's pure evil. Present and talk somewhere else. Pref a place w/ meaning for the work.

Just heard "It's too watermellon." wtf? The color is, or the idea is too mellon-based? Jeesh. Time to feedback the feedback.

Sometimes the best response is "noted..." Don't feel pressured to validate every persons' comments. Just let some words go away.

Positive feedback can be it's own challenge. When they say they love it, agree and move on. Don't over celebrate with them—danger lurks.

Tip: Take yourself, and your client out of the equation. Replace the phrase "I think..." with "The work communicates/expresses/etc..."

Tip: Try honesty. People are so guarded, defensive, etc, that just actually saying what you think, often disarms the room and gets results.

Tip: What you show is what you get. Show something vague, you hear something vague. Show something sharp, you'll hear something sharp.

TIP: Don't mistake the client's need to collaborate as a client NOT wanting to be swept away. We still need to inspire, face-to-face.

TIP: Focus 99% of you creative energy on the 1% of creative that matters most. Don't let an RFP or a phone call spread you dangerously thin.
