i think it's okay to give up. give up on stories that don't inspire you anymore. give up on ideas that won't grow into something more. give up on a WIP that is holding you back. give up on things that don't spark joy anymore. it's okay to let them go. some things have to be.

i hope you know that peak audience doesn't mean peak writing. as a writer, especially in fandom spaces, your stories' popularity will fluctuate but you will continue to grow as a writer and you will continue to matter even if your audience isn't as wide as it once was.
