AI is now it seems more likely to recognized as human than actual humans! Now that CAPTCHA customers KNOW this I wonder if they will DO anything about these annoying and seemingly useless obstacles.

Guy and I had a rollicking conversation about battling bad organizational friction and much more. As he usual, he exudes a remarkable mix of joy, wisdom, and irreverence.

A manager who created unnecessary obstacles wrote me "I've been doing this for 20 years, don't tell me what to do" It seems, rather than learning and listening, he just does the same things years after year, without getting better at his job or helping others #frictionproject

A beautiful example of what much academic writing actually is like. I once got a rejection letter for an academic article because, in part, it was too well-written, too accessible to a general audience. Not joking. At a Academy of Management journal. Where I did later win best paper awards

I blurbed this book, just fantastic. A rollicking, gritty, funny, and useful read that is part memoir and part leadership book, and completely delightful.

I agree using "sludge mailboxes" to gather employee (plus customer and supplier) suggestions is a good idea BUT people who make suggestions need to be safe from retribution (looking at you The Boeing Company) Execs also need to read and act on suggestions--not do "sham participation"

Toxic workplaces are built on a foundation of fear, often cloaked as 'frank'. Is that what Amazon wants? 🎯"I do worry, however, that by removing so many managers to "flatten" the company and forcing people to return the office, Amazon is creating a culture of fear. That
