Homework does little to improve achievement and can actually have negative effects, especially at elementary level. Recess however has many positive effects such as improved self regulation of emotions, improved interpersonal skills and focus! And should never be taken away.

If you want quality education for your children, this is not the way to go. Start treating teachers like professionals and start paying them like professionals and more will stay and more will get education degrees and locenses. Do it this way and kids are always shortchanged.
