Excited to expand our efforts to domesticate Clostridia, with support from #NSF, and awesome collaborators Nicholas Sandoval and Aimee Shen. Actively looking for a postdoc interested in pioneering new ways to genetically engineer non-model microbes. che.northeastern.edu/news/engineeri… Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University

New pre-print: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… In collaboration with Mo Khalil, we develop AnEVO, a version of eVOLVER for benchtop anaerobic work and gas fermentation, and use it to study co-metabolism in E. limosum. Included parts list makes it easy to duplicate in your own lab!

Just out in ACS SynBio, our work developing a biosensor for hydrogen sulfide, a molecule with links to IBD whose volatility and reactivity make quantifying it difficult. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…. Ultimately we hope this could be used as a non-invasive early diagnostic

We traveled to DC to talk to Congressional Staffers about the impact of NIH NIBIB funding. It enables us to develop synthetic biology tools to advance cell & genetic medicines for patients in need. REPOST to deliver the message that SCIENCE saves lives & makes America great!
