To better understand your stakeholders, treat them like your users! Do your research: what is their role? What’s important to them? Create personas. The more human we can make them, the more emapthy we can bring to the table.

Often, people need to see stuff in order to react to it. Then, make sure you understand where they’re coming from and try to direct the conversation to “what’s working or not working” vs “I like or don’t like”
