As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by so many brave men and women. May we honor their memory and hold their families in our hearts.

I am deeply humbled to be named to the Arkansas Boys State Hall of Fame. In 1985, Boys State showed me that leadership isn’t just about titles, it’s about service. This program continues to teach young men the value of listening to others and standing up for what is right.

What a historic and exciting day for Cabot and the entire state of Arkansas as we officially broke ground on the Lyon College of Veterinary Medicine. As an agriculture-driven state, the need for this institution is clear—and I’m incredibly proud to welcome it to my district.

The news out of Minnesota is both heartbreaking and deeply unsettling. My prayers are with the legislators and their families. There is no place for violence in our political system. It undermines the very foundation of our democracy and must never be tolerated.

Senator Stubblefield’s life reflected a true commitment to public service and a genuine love for Arkansas. His time in the House and later in the Senate was marked by dedication to the people he represented. On behalf of the House, I extend our condolences to his family.

Budget Hearings start Wednesday. These hearings provide us the opportunity to closely examine agency requests, ask questions, and ensure taxpayer dollars are being spent wisely.

Pre-Fiscal Session budget hearings started this morning. Over the next few days, we’ll be reviewing the Governor’s proposed budget and hearing from state agencies about their priorities. It’s an important step in making sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
