Memo to the moderators: The quest for balance is a trap. Treating both sides of a debate as equal when one side is demonstrably false is not fairness but malpractice. Truth is more important than balance. There aren't two sides to a lie.

Shame on White Sulphur Springs, WV police chief D.S. Teubert, who hired Timothy Loehmann—killer of 12-year-old #TamirRice. Child would have been 22 years old this week, if cop hadn't killed him. #JusticeForTamir #PoliceMisconduct #policebrutality chandralaw.com/blog/subodh-ch…

One lesson that we Christians have not learned in the last +2,000 years is that Jesus had no political control over the Roman Empire and he still changed the world. We keep trying to change the world the way the Roman Empire did instead of the way Jesus did.

As media, we consistently proclaim that we are just reporting the news when in fact we are driving it. What we cover, how we cover it, determines often what Americans thinks is important and *how* they perceive these issues yet we keep pretending it is not so. If Americans don’t

The USCCB is spending 14 million dollars to help people believe what the Bible says about Jesus in Matthew 26, while cutting the programs that would show that we believe what the Bible says about Jesus in Matthew 25.

When Jesus says to “love your neighbor,” the correct response isn’t “who is my neighbor?” The correct response is “won’t you be my neighbor?”

I LONG FOR A WORLD where the church is known for what it is for, rather than who it is against. I long for a world where theologies are secondary to love of neighbor. I long for a world where repentance is something Christians practice more than they preach.

If you believe God intervened to save former President Trump, but didn’t intervene to save the kids in Uvalde or Parkland or Santa Fe or Sandy Hook, then you are worshipping partisan politics, not Jesus.

If you believe God moved the bullet but you don’t believe God is bringing immigrants to America, your view of God’s sovereignty is limited to what you want to believe God is doing,

Notice how it’s always “the Bible must inform our laws!” until it comes to welcoming the immigrant, helping the poor, feeding the hungry, bringing healthcare to the sick, forgiving debts, caring for our planet, laying down our swords, or loving our neighbors.

White liberals posting our joy about Kamala Harris but not our grief about Sonya Massey, we might not be listening to Black women as much as we think we are.

If we Christians won’t at least consider what it does to our witness for Jesus when the world sees viral Christian outrage over the Olympics, but not over Sonya Massey, hungry school kids, or a politician hawking Bibles, we aren’t taking our faith as seriously as we think we are.
