Here's an interesting article about being self-employed in the #InstructionalDesign and #eLearning industry. If, like me, you're considering the freelancing or sole trader route this advice might come in handy! #tcidul

Audacity is a powerful piece of software when you delve into its' rich feature-set. In this #tcidul blog I briefly talk about why I think everyone should take the time to learn this program, especially #TechnicalWriters and #InstructionalDesigners. 10127828.blogspot.com/2020/03/audaci…

A four part series on building an #eLearning portfolio from Ashley Chiasson. Worth checking out for #tcidul students, not so much for the assignment as these are more long term tips, but should be useful when building on what's created in this module. ashleychiasson.com/blog/how-to-bu…

An interesting blog post about the communication process in #eLearning. Highlights that it's important to give the learner lots of feedback and assess their understanding throughout the content, not just at the end in a quiz. blogs.articulate.com/rapid-elearnin…

Here are some tips for #voiceover that #tcidul students might find useful. I'm currently working on a set of my own tips for one of my blogs this week, so I'll share those too when they're done. sweetwater.com/insync/11-tips…

For my second #tcidul blog of the week, I put together some of my own tips for #voiceover work. These are by no means exhaustive, but hopefully they are a good starting point or at the very least give you some ideas to try: 10127828.blogspot.com/2020/03/some-t…

With so many people working from home for the foreseeable future, a #podcast may be a good solution to provide employees with training or to keep the workers engaged and up to date. Here's an article on the benefits. #tcidul learningsolutionsmag.com/articles/how-p…

If there's a positive to be taken from COVID-19, it could be the impetus for a revolution in teaching. Hopefully institutions use this crisis as an opportunity to familiarise themselves with online alternatives & perhaps we can retain some of them when normality resumes. #tcidul

"Special needs" is problematic. During the Inclusive Africa Conference, Dagnachew B. Wakene urged people to avoid this phrase. Labeling a disabled person's need for water, food & dignity as special suggests it's extra & optional. Just don't. But I'll confess Dag & I have special needs 1/3
