In their 2019 paper, Jaber et al. created this awesome(!) 3D graph showing how ATP, phosphate (Pi), and phosphocreatine (PCr) levels change during exercise. Understanding these metabolites is one of the goals of our exercise research #osidccasestudy pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32140702/

Looking into ways to measure displacement in the range of 0-10 cm with a raspberry pi. Current best options seem to be sound or laser based! #osidcupdate

One of the cheapest and most accurate measurement options so far is actually a liquid measurement ruler that uses changes in resistance due to the liquid to measure distance. A tube filled with water wasn't something anyone had in mind, but it could work! #osidcupdate

Learned today that ultrasonic distance measurement devices only cost about 5 dollars. Will have to research if these are MRI safe (probably not) but it is definitely a great option for a prototype #OSIDCupdate

Sent in the first copy of my Honors grant proposal, patiently awaiting a whole lot of red ink in feedback 😬 #OSIDCupdate

This project has turned from simply wanting to make a functioning ergometer for my lab into testing and optimizing every aspect of the design to maintain affordability and accuracy #osidcupdate

Got my ultrasonic distance sensor up and running! Seems to have some resolution issues, especially when on an uneven surface like my hand. #OSIDCupdate
