Kidical Mass is such a powerful initiative; never fails to get smiles and support from the drivers and passersby we encounter. The people in this video are the future of Manchester - a cleaner, healthier, friendlier city.

I’ll vote for whoever promises these and isn’t literally evil 💧 Fix our water and sewage infrastructure, cap profits 🚲 Public transport back under public control, and vast expansion of active travel 🌳 End all subsidies and public investment in fossil fuels

49% of GM want to walk or wheel more, and 40% want to cycle more. (@Sustrans) We need ALL boroughs to follow Chorlton/Manchester City Council's lead and help make active travel the natural choice. Watch Gareth's interview in full on our YouTube channel: youtube.com/watch?v=pbfWw8…

Our streets are for everyone ❤️ We got out and about in #Salford with decision makers, stakeholders and our friends at Cycling UK, to highlight some of the issues faced by disabled cyclists.

As principal structural engineer for the restoration of Rochdale Borough Council Town Hall, I travelled from Manchester weekly for three years. Cycling to Rochdale was stressful & muddy; I'd have benefitted from smooth cycle tracks to town via Castleton Cllr Phil Burke #ApprovePhase2

This should be the norm on all residential roads. Aside from the obvious safety and wellbeing benefits of calming traffic, street trees reduce flood risk and reduce temperatures during heatwaves.

We're obsessed with this dreamy new bit of public realm, and the way it's improving lives in Rochdale. What do you all think? Great work, Rochdale Borough Council and @YourTrustRdale 👏

In Episode 2 we touch on: - Canal paths and road rage - Oldham Council's work with Pete Swift and Planit - Louise Haigh and new opportunities for active travel nationally - When is it right to call out councils for poor provision?
