Morning #Penge - fancy home grown bouquets over the summer? If you have a garden, patio, large window box, guerilla roadside verge - NOW is the time to sow. Cernthe, ammi, cornflowers, gypsophilia all by Benjamin Ranyard. For inspiration/mad obsession go to Georgie Newbery #Spring

#London gardeners and #meadow lovers - if the sunny weather makes you twitchy about weeds, before you go all Mad Max on your lawn check out this handy guide which explains what wildflowers look like right now. Always remember, bros before hoes!

Will you look at this #native #wildflower primrose. Classy, stuffed with pollen and just as floriferous as its #basic cousin the overbred car park bedding plant polyanthus in 50 shades of 1980. #WildIsles #biodiversity

#Urban #garden reminder! No matter the size of your plot / garden / window box: You can make a life-changing difference to a few birds, a ton of insects, a shedload of invertebrates and a whole universe of soil organisms. Despite the climate crisis - we are not powerless! #nature

🍃Plant Match of the Day⚽️ Got a fancy pants city job, your boss emails all weekend and your kids have more hobbies than Elon Musk? Sunny patio but zero time? Enter ROSEMARY. Unbelievably low maintenance. No watering. Free bees. Evergreen. Optional pruning direct onto pizza

Rather than seeing a home and garden as something we ‘own’ let’s think of it as ‘guardianship’. Any outdoor space has tons of life in it, in the air, soil, water. Let’s treat it like it has rights. You’re not allowed to kick a dog because you ‘own’ it. Life is sacred. #Easter

Happy #GoodFriday! We think of cemeteries as places of death but this one in #Penge proves that they can be full of life. Decaying wood offers shelter to hedgehogs and breeding ground for beetles. Birds sing overhead. Beauty worth protecting - #wildlife is not just for #Easter

Happy #Easter! This achingly stunning front garden near #Penge shows that humans have the awesome ability to help #nature rise up. Whether you’re religious or not, whether you have a garden or not - plant/sow something this weekend. Choose life! #EasterSunday2023 #wildlife

Take 5 seconds this #Sunday to imagine how green and full of #wildlife #London could be if all front gardens looked like this little gem in #Penge. Then spend a couple of hours turning yours from bin storage to micro habitat! #biodiversity #ClimateAction

Spotted in #Penge this morning. The @Arbortas team adding much needed trees to Croydon Road. Looking great! On the downside, the council won’t be able to hire it out as an apocalyptic film set. If you’re local, why not adopt a tree and help it through summer by watering it!

#Penge humans: Slow worms are exactly the kind of people we want in our gardens. They eat slugs. Need we say more? Protect them with your life. This sighting at Homebase is exciting and shows that even the smallest tangle of shrubbery is a valuable habitat #biodiversity

Calling all #Penge residents - who else is doing #NoMowMay? After leaving parts the lawn to grow, we heard crickets chirping every evening last summer😍. So this year we’re signing up for #NoMowSummer Penge East Community Centre Gardens @GreenGymPenge #nature #biodiversity #garden

Tiny urban forests can help #rewild urban settings and fight #climatechange. The brainchild of the Japanese botanist Miyawaki he's taking his idea global. We have so many solutions. Let's stop the delays and implement them. #ActOnClimate #climateaction #climate #forests #nature
