The Jaguar girls are your new state lacrosse champions! Playing at Nashua's Stellos Stadium on Tuesday, the Jags jumped out to an early 3-0 lead over Winnacunnet at the NHIAA Division 2 Championships and never trailed, winning 10-6.

The boys volleyball team's playoff run kept rolling Tuesday against Salem, with the Jags winning in three straight games. They now face Souhegan in the semifinals, 5 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Nashua South.

Our seniors have voted to hold graduation outside tomorrow at 6 p.m. There is a chance of rain. We have an additional tent on the field and will livestream in the auditorium if you prefer to be indoors. Unable to attend? Watch the live stream on YouTube or through WCTV.

Teachers have posted their grades, and along with students they're off enjoying their summer break. We administrators will see everyone back here on Wednesday, Aug. 28! Until then, our summer office hours will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Mon.-Thurs. and Fridays from 8 a.m.-noon.

WHS eagerly awaits the Classes of 2025-2028 as school begins tomorrow. Teachers and other staff spent Monday and Tuesday getting things ship-shape, and were treated to ice cream from the administrative team and house plants from substitute teacher and green thumb Mary Richmond.

Day 1 of the 2024-25 school year has been going swimmingly ... and not just because of the humidity. Students are back in class and already hard at work. Thank you to our great families for supporting our students and having them ready to learn.

Reminder to parents: WHS will have no school for students or teachers Tuesday, Sept. 10, due to the primary election being held in the gym. The district's other three schools will have classes as usual; WHS' day will be made up at the end of the year. Classes resume Wednesday.

We are pleased to announce that Jill Bartlett has been named 2024's Health Teacher of the Year by the New Hampshire Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. She will be honored at the group's awards banquet in November. Congratulations, Mrs. Bartlett!

Attention all juniors and parents of same: Tomorrow, juniors will take the ASVAB test in the gym. They will be called down to the gym at 9:15 for the test, which will start at 9:30 and run for three hours. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and a water bottle.
