RIP Anne V. Coates, editor of Lawrence of Arabia. Once asked her at a Q&A about working with Maurice Jarre’s music score. Replied that she didn’t hear it until after the edit. It had all been edited and paced with natural sound. David Lean had only heard the theme on a piano.
