Businesses invest in billboard ads for marketing. Instead, I'm going to buy a firetruck and slap the bookstore logo on it It's going to be called "Salamander" and numbered "451". #iykyk

The book industry is having a conference in Denver where book owners meet/talk about the industry. One of the activities is taking field trips to local stores doing well. The Midnight Oil has made the list and will be bringing in 55 bookstore owners from around the US. πŸ˜¬πŸ˜…

I'll browse social media of businesses around me randomly. I like to see if maybe there's insight to how our local community engages online. Was looking at one and was interesting to see their new products mimicking the bookstore selection. Imitation is flattery I suppose.

We have a dictionary of a book that came in that breaks down your personality based on birthday. We slapped a "display only" on it and leave it on one of our tables. Pretty much every day, people see it and end up spending extra time here. #retailhack

Nice little write up. Waiting to see what Greeley residents will say in disgust. Going to use those quotes for next year's marketing campaign. πŸ˜ƒ

"The world is in pain, we must fight back and change. A revolution is coming against the oppressor which takes many forms, including capitalism." "Where can we learn about this and find out more?" "You can buy my book on Amazon. Please share it so I can continue the fight." πŸ™„

"I brought in a resume, and you kinda ghosted me." "We're not hiring." "You could have called." "We get 3 or 4 phone calls and emails a day. It would be a part-time job to respond to each individual" "That would be perfect, I'm only looking for part-time." 🀨 "No."

We must test ourselves daily. We must make courage a habit. We must remind ourselves who’s in charge. You, not the pull to be comfortable. You, not the desire for everyone to like you. You, not the need to sound smart and all-knowing.

You know the thing you told yourself last night? The thing that you would do today and stop putting off? Do it. Your mind doesn't want the stress of putting it off anymore.

Spending more time on Bluesky and enjoying it more over there. Curious to see how things hold up. If you haven't gone, it's worth giving it a few days and playing around with it.
