People use wheelchairs for independent mobility. Do not use terms such as confined to a wheelchair or wheelchair-bound. If a wheelchair is needed and that fact is relevant to the story, make clear why.

Dr. Moore has invoked the idea that high rates of vaccination are a reason to drop the mask mandate. 100% of kids< 5 are unvaccinated. 70% of kids 5-11 are not fully vaccinated.

It shouldn’t be this hard to convince people that disabled people matter.

Mask requirements end today in Ontario. I’ll still be wearing mine when entering shops because it’s a chill & easy way for me to make that space safer for others. And I’d rather save my risk budget for moments when it’s more meaningful to not mask.

The sidewalk on John street between King and Queen streets is a mess and a really challenge for wheelchair users. This is not TIFF fault of course but makes getting between venues harder than it should be.

Today I was called "wheelchair person" and "person with accessibility challenges." I don't identify as either of those things but I do identify as a disabled person, thank you so much for asking.

So let me get this right VIA Rail Canada had me get a doctor sign a form to prove I have accommodation needs, then can't confirm they got the form because that department isn't open any longer at 3pm. Cool
