These stats, just released, are a national scandal. Over 15,000 doctors applied to GP training this year. Yet NHS England is letting only 4000 of them do so. Yes. That’s 11k potential new GPs lost to the NHS - when we’re crying out for GPs. Many replaced with PAs - madness.

Labour might want to think about the fact that the first thing it's doing about disabled people is debate whether the state should be allowed to help us die

Mental health matters unless an unpaid carer working 90 + hrs p/wk. Then, well, it’s ok to say you aren’t ok but there’s not much anyone will do about it Similar to how sleep matters, mental health & sleep go hand in hand unless you’re an unpaid carer working 90 + hrs p/wk 🧵

On #WorldMentalHealthDay let's shine a light on the parent carers who battle every day and night to keep our children safe and well. On those who are fighting for healthcare, for assessments, for anyone to listen and pay attention to their child's needs. 1/

Disabled children and young people will have fewer places to go once charities like this close. Too many carers now struggle to access respite and are left to it. Yet the health and social care system would collapse completely without carers. theguardian.com/society/2024/o…

Such sad news which will be devastating for disabled children, young people and their families who rely on this support. theguardian.com/society/2024/o…

I wish UK governments would have summits on child and disability poverty as regularly as they do on business, money and the continuation of dropping bombs on people.

In South Australia an 86 y/o terminally ill man has spent 10 months in hospital waiting for care support to go home He's now given up hope of getting that support & is instead 'choosing' to die by assisted suicide Is this the 'choice' we want in the UK? youtube.com/watch?v=dNY9Ur…

there are thousands of unpaid carers Keir Starmer providing hours & hours of unpaid care, they’re definitely working. They don’t go out to work, they stay in, day after day, many providing 90 + hours of care a week. They have no savings, no back up plan, many living in poverty!

From today disabled workers effectively "stop" earning for the rest of the year because of the pay gap between us and non-disabled workers. That gap sits at 17.2%, with non-disabled employees making about £2.35 more per hour on average. #DisabilityPayGapDay #FairDues
