Morning inspiration. Yun Fei Ji - the empty city: east wind, 2003. What a fantastic painting - it's nostalgic - my parents were the product of the cultural revolution, and within this rectangle, Fei Ji communicates a multitude of stories/histories/styles. Efficient and condensed.

I had the opportunity to see Turandot at the sf opera, not necessarily for the opera, but for the lush sets and costume design by David Hockney. Such a treat. I loved how he played w/ depth, scale, proportion, perspective. His love of color just excites me.

In the tropics, there's so much water vapor that cumulous clouds are often crowded together. They appear as if puffed out from a cloud machine, billow and tumbling into each other. Pushing one another out of the way to the fore. #TropicalClouds #WeatherPhenomenon
