Love to travel in search of good food, wine, pubs & countryside: It's all geographical; occasionally political. Also on Bluesky.

So now it's the misguided bully against bent Bobby J. It's been a good day for The Labour Party and the Government.
The Chancellor has already ruled out increases to NI contributions. This would clearly be a tax rise for "working people" The Labour Party.
For me, Delia May West's Devon garden was the highlight of tonight's #GardenersWorld. With assiduous dead-heading, a hill near Tiverton has been cloaked by a 100 dahlia varieties, a plethora of other gorgeous flowers and some great fruit & veg - All in just 5 years. BBC Gardeners World
At worst, bad timing by Louise Haigh. In recent years, P&O have closed ferry ops at Liverpool, Hull & Portsmouth. Other routes have been sold off. They pay some crew as little as £4.87 per hour. They are NOT a company that promises reliable investment. theguardian.com/business/2024/…
The cancellation of BBC HARDtalk is a very poor decision by BBC News (UK) managers. At best, this is a neglect of the BBC's mission. At worst, the organisation has relinquished any claim to be a serious news outlet.
On a more optimistic BBC note, I've just caught up with series 7 of Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing and it remains as wonderful as ever. #GoneFishing
I enjoyed this morning's #SaturdayKitchen - This isn't inevitable. Angela Hartnett always improves things and Dusty Knuckle Bakery baking contribution was great. I've neglected apple turnovers for too long.
Unfortunately, the apple turnover recipe from this morning's SaturdayKitchen is NOT on the @bbcfood website yet! I did manage to find it here: houseandgarden.co.uk/recipe/apple-p…. It comes from Dusty Knuckle Bakery cookbook, co-authored by Daisy Terry.
I love the joke about "top legal brain." The current Attorney General should be looking at this. The former government must be held to account properly.
