Love to travel in search of good food, wine, pubs & countryside: It's all geographical; occasionally political. Migrated to Bluesky. @whalleysteve.bsky.social

Let's take the water industry back into public ownership. Then the billions creamed off in share dividends can be invested in water infrastructure. #MARCHFORCLEANWATER

Great anger as to why residents had been left on their own to deal with the catastrophic results of last week's #SpanishFloods. Seems like Prime Minister Sánchez was whisked away in the face of an "barrage" of mud thrown by furious locals. theguardian.com/world/2024/nov…

I don't often quote Windsor Davies, but here goes, "Oh dear, how sad, never mind." Dyson's wealth was recently estimated as just short of £21 billion.

I've just caught up with episode 6 of Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing in Bedfordshire. A wonderful 30 minutes of hilarity, bucolic splendour, and great music. Don't miss it. Sadly, there's only one more outing in this series. #GoneFishing

Caroline Crocker's Plymouth Duck Garden stood out on tonight's #GardenersWorld. Firstly because it was wonderfully reimagined in just a year. Also because of those beautiful horseshoe-shaped mounds festooned with flowers and grasses. Just needs a waterfall (?) BBC Gardeners World

I agree. If the BBC and Alex Kay-Jelski get this wrong, I will be concluding my 50 year long viewership of #MOTD at the end of this season.

It's looking increasingly likely that next week in #Darwen #Lancashire, and most of the UK, will be MUCH colder with a risk of snow on higher ground.
