Sunspots 3293 and 3296 (top right) have released several C and M class flares. 3293 is displaying reverse polarity which is rare and could well release stronger X class flares over the coming days. A good time for solar imaging! Image by BAA member Dave Smith

Did you see BBC Hampshire & Isle of Wight yesterday warning people not to feed #RedKites? It's so important - it disrupts natural population spread, makes them dependent on 1 food source & doesn't give the nutrients they need. It also makes them bolder. Do you know anyone who feeds Red Kites?

Unfortunately due to a poor weather forecast the observing at Ruislip Lido tonight is CANCELLED. Saturday is also looking poor, but we will decide about that tomorrow. Sunday is looking more possible.

Unfortunately due to the cloudy weather we have to CANCEL the public observing we had planned for tonight (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) at Ruislip Lido. There is a small chance for Sunday and we will make a definitive statement on that on Sunday.
