This fantastic picture of the was taken by @RoyalAstroSocFellow Callum Potter.

He managed to capture the partial eclipse from Rousay, Orkney after cycling round to the north west side of the island to get a clear view of the Sun setting into the Atlantic.

Monster sunspot AR3590 will soon reach the northwest solar limb and rotate out of view. BAA Solar Section member Carl Bowron imaged the sunspot on the 25th February when it was crossing the central meridian. Some impressive prominences were around too.

Although the Sun has quietened down a little, Luigi Morrone has imaged Active Region 3405, a large stable penumbral sunspot in the north west quadrant. Imaged at 22 August 2023 at 0837 UT using C14 EDGE HD 355mm, Fornax 52, Basler 1920-155 Barlow Zeiss.
